Yantra RAM is a voluntary non-political non-profit organization whose aim is to coordinate and stimulate the development between the national, regional and municipal common strategies and the realization of programs that aim to strengthen the local self-government and the sustainable development of the region. The Association represents its members and advocates their interests. It provides different services to its members and works towards increasing the role of local authorities and citizen participation.

YANTRA’s Strategic Goal for 2003-2005 is:

Increasing the potentialities of each municipality for sustainable economic, ecological and social development and becoming a reliable partner of the municipalities in the region with the necessary capacity for providing its members with various services.

In order to reach the strategic goal for the period YANTRA makes its strategic aims to:

І. Providing to its members services, beneficial for all aspects of their activities, on the basis of permanent study of their opinion and needs.

ІІ. Increasing citizens’ understanding of local governance, its role and scope of work as well as their direct participation in it.

ІІІ. Increasing the potentialities of the organization for supporting its members in their sustainable economic, ecological and social development.

ІV. YANTRA Regional Association of Municipalities – sustainable and efficient organization.
