Yantra Regional Association of Municipalities by the river Yantra and its affluents is a voluntary non-governmental, non-profit organization, established on July 23rd 1999 in Veliko Turnovo. Its main aim is the implementation of a joint territorial, economic, social, ecological and investment policy, as well as the coordination of the national strategies, regional programmes and local interests for the development of its member municipalities. |

| Members of the Association are now 8 municipalities: Veliko Turnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Elena, Lyaskovets, Polski Trambesh, Zlataritsa, Pavlikeni, Suhindol as well as the Danube Center for Education and Development, Svishtov, Strajitsa(2004). |
